Fort Morgan, Colorado offers the undiscovered

The Fort Morgan area is a rural community of
about 12,000 people located only 60 minutes northeast
from Denver along the uncongested, lightly traveled
and safe interstate highway, I-76. Denver International
Airport is closer yet, a 45-minute drive without a single
traffic light to negotiate. Residents enjoy the professional
sports, performing arts and specialty shopping venues
of Denver while enjoying the refreshingly slower pace
of the Fort Morgan area.
The Platte River meanders next to Fort Morgan and is
the home for many types of waterfowl and animals. The
Platte River valley scenery changes with the seasons
and anchors Fort Morgan to its historical agricultural
roots and offers many recreational opportunities.

Fort Morgan Climate:
Fort Morgan enjoys a mild,
sunny, semi-arid climate. Sheltered from long stretches
of extremely cold and snowy winter weather, Fort Morgan
is rarely hampered by major blizzards. Average annual
snowfall is 27.1 inches and annual precipitation is
12.1 inches. About 300 days of sunshine exist every
year with prevailing winds from the north or northeast
in the winter.
School District:
The Fort Morgan
School District consists of four elementary schools,
an intermediate school, a middle school, and a high
school. Private schools are available for parents who
desire parochial education for their children. Lincoln
High School gives high school students who have dropped
out a second chance to complete their education. Fort
Morgan is home to Morgan Community College that has
an open door policy, fully transferable credits, continuing
education programs, and vocational training. The college
works closely with local businesses to establish training
programs to teach industry specific skills.

Medical Center:
Colorado Plains
Medical Center serves the community with a 40 bed health
care facility including inpatient and outpatient service.
Special services include: same-day surgery, respiratory
care, a cardiac rehabilitation program, a full-service
laboratory, home health care, a specialty clinic, physical
occupational and speech therapy, dietitians, a clinical
pharmacy, radiology, an outpatient counseling program,
and health education classes. Recently, a Level II nursery
was added to the facility. Colorado Plains Medical Center
is a designated Level III Trauma Center. More that 15
physicians are in private practice as well as several
dentists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, physical therapists,
and chiropractors.
Fort Morgan Neighborhoods:
Fort
Morgan's neighborhood atmosphere means a very low crime
rate. The local police force
of 28 sworn officers and eight support staff handles
the low number of minor offenses. Major crime is virtually
non-existent in Fort Morgan.
Fort Morgan has an enhanced
911 emergency call system for quick response to emergencies.
Fort Morgan has one of the best volunteer fire departments
in the state. The 32 members are "on-call"
24 hours a day, seven days a week for fires and emergency
situations.
